Stag View

A first floor flat, Stag View, is within a building that was originally a hunting lodge built by the laird who lived in Strathpeffer in 1850. The current owners purchased the property in 2004 since when it has retained much of its original charm, it has been guest accommodation since 1966. There is no lift.

The property has extensive rear grounds that go down to the River Black Water, there is free fishing but very little salmon, Scottish Fisheries catch the Salmon as they jump Rogie Falls, however, Brown Trout is frequently caught in the River.

Some of the smallest birds in the UK can be seen in the grounds, with a good selection of Raptors, Stags, Pine Martens, Badgers.

There are beautiful views of the mountains and hills, the property sits within a 'basin' and is surrounded by mountains, & can be seen all the way to Ullapool, great for guests who are both social walkers & more serious Munro baggers.

The property is perfectly placed for travelling the NC500, for going out & about to visit the sights or just a quick stop over before travelling to the outer Hebrides or the Orkneys

Locally there are a number of Waterfalls, the Falls at Rogie Falls, 15 minutes away, were made famous by Robert Louis Stevenson who sat & drew the falls & put the picture in his book, Kidnapped, the main stone is still there to be seen. There is the Corrieshalloch Gorge along the road at 200 feet deep, Falls of Meshach 15 minutes away, Castle Leod as seen in the TV series Outlander 20 minutes away, Blackmuir Wood 14 miles away, The visitor centre at Culloden Moor is well worth a visit, just to name a few local visitor attractions.

If you like 'scary' then you can visit Applecross with its most scary high roads, if you like remote landscapes then we are in the middle of moon like landscapes and scenery.

If you are on motorbike, then we sit on the third most popular European road for bikers.
